El Perro y La Galleta” es el nuevo restaurante del propietario de “Bar Galleta“. Un local que ofrece gastronomía internacional en un espacio con decoración de estilo victoriano, cocina non stop y una ubicación excelente, frente al Parque del Retiro.

A continuación, un antiguo comedor, con un mirador, un gran zócalo de madera de castaño y dos librerías con vajillas francesas e inglesas y la cocina, con un mueble despensa y una  barra, donde los cocineros preparan al momento los platos delante de los clientes.

Os recomiendo dos platos deliciosos, el Tartar de atún con aguacate, mango, jenjibre y sésamo y los tacos al pastor con cerdo marinado, piña y cilantro.

Los postres, caseros, son todos con galleta Fontaneda. Hemos probado el crumble de manzana con helado de galleta, salsa de chocolate blanco y vainilla, buenísimo!

El Columpio, new restaurant in Madrid

A few months ago the restaurant ‘El Columpio‘  opened at  C/Caracas, 10  a new project from restauranteur Stephen Arnáiz, who also owns ‘Le Cocó‘, which we reviewed in an earlier post.

El Columpio‘ is located in the Almagro section of Chamberí and is open all day (09:00 to 00.00), so you can go for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just have a drink after work at the bar.

The cuisine by chef Juan Rioja offers Mediterranean dishes such as ravioli of fresh prawn, squid tentacles, beef cheeks, pork confit with pears in wine or verdins with black sausage, prawns and squid noodles.

We recommend the eggplant sticks with honey, wok mushrooms, artichokes, and green asparagus. You should also try the mushroom pizza with truffle.

For dessert try the homemade cakes as carrot cake or coulant au chocolate with vanilla ice cream.
The architect Marta Banus designed ‘El Columpio‘ with three distinct spaces.

The chic and sophisticated front room, with its cocktail bar, has 1920′s inspired retro lamps, gilt mirrors and colored velvet sofas.

Gourmet Experience Serrano,52 Madrid

On January 12th the new Gourmet Experience was inaugurated on the top floor of the Corte Inglés at Serrano, 52 Street in Madrid.

This new space with two floors was renovated by prominent interior designers.

On the seventh floor you can find StreetXO from chef David Muñoz, Cascabel by Roberto Ruiz and Rocambolesc by Jordi Roca. Together these chefs have seven Michelin stars between them.

StreetXO is based on a philosophy of ‘street food‘ with a hint of worldwide influences.

Aromatic dishes with meat, fish, a mixture of flavors, sour, spicy, crunchy textures. The 200 square meter space was designed by Lazaro Rosa-Violán.

Cascabel offers unique recipes with Mexican flavors and local ingredients. Roberto Ruiz’s dishes (aguachile scallops, fish taco, guacamole, tossed chicken…) and a variety of coktails with mezcal.

The design of the restaurant was done by Eugenio Caballero, who won an Oscar in 2007 for art direction of the film Pan’s Labyrinth.

And Rocambolesc offers ice cream as high craft.

This delicious ice cream comes in six flavors: chocolate 70%; baked apple based on an old recipe from Jordi Roca’s mother; vanilla from Papantla, Mexico; yogurt and sheep milk, a classic dessert of Celler Can Roca; carrot, mandarin and apricot sorbet; and a limited edition Panettone ice cream. Uniquely “Icy Hot”, and lastly a spongy bread containing creamy ice cream.

Also on the seventh floor there is a 100 square meter sun deck equipped with heaters.

On the sixth floor at El Corte Ingles you can find the “Gastrobar Experience“.
