The press conference was attended by the dermatologist Santiago Vidal, Vice President of Spanish Photobiology Group, Rosa María Valls from Avène Dermatological Laboratories, Cristina Tiemblo, the National Spokesperson of Dermatologists of the CGCF, Mercedes Milá, journalist, Paloma Lago, model and TV presenter, and journalist Sandra Barneda.

The beneficial effects of the sun are manifold. The synthesis of vitamin D in the skin and UV therapy can improve certain skin conditions related to the sun.

The experts at the press conference highlighted the importance of proper sun exposure in a controlled manner by following these tips:

1. Always use a sunscreen before going outside. Even though we are not directly in the sun, the solar rays can reach us.

2. Use sun protector on dry skin and spread it over the entire body with special attention on the face and neck where it is recommended to use higher levels of protection.

3.Reapply frequently in cases of prolonged exposure and after swimming. The use of sunscreen should not encourage prolonged sun exposure.

4.Avoid sun exposure between 12pm and 4pm.

5.Sunburns are dangerous, especially for children.

6.Sun protection products once opened last approximately one year.

7. The expiration dates are indicated on the package, usually around three years from the time of purchase, while they remain unopened.

8.Visit a dermatologist as soon see an abnormality on the skin and review once a year.
